Final conferenceClosure event of the CATMED project in Malaga - 1st July 2011 The final conference of the CATMED project took place in Malaga the 1st of July 2011. The Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre Prados, was there to welcome the participants. He made a general balance of the project results and created dynamics, encouraging partners to keep working together. Pedro Marin, as representative of the Lead Partner, presented the CATMED results and each partner city explained what are the outputs of the project in its territory and at a transnational level. The implementation of the platform of Mediterranean metropolises that will aim at keeping working on urban sustainable development in the Mediterranean area was also at stake. Spanish national authorities and MED programme representatives (JTS and AUG) were also present. Isabela Velzaquez, a Spanish arquitect, brought her own point of view and experience by presenting other projects that deal with the same issue that CATMED. At the end of this event, a short documentary has been proposed to the particpants. It shows the signature of the Malaga Charter and the Green Apple projects in several cities. Public seminar in ValenciaSustainability and urban innovation in Mediterranean cities A CATMED public seminar took place in Valencia on Monday 10th May 2011 at 11.00 a.m in the Conference Room of the "Complejo La Petxina", Paseo de la Petxina, 42, Valencia.  It offered the opportunity to the Valencian Municipality to present several strategies that link sustainability and urban innovation:

 Public seminar in Genoa - 4th March 2011What does "the sustainable city" mean? The City of Genoa hosted the last CATMED meeting on 3rd and 4th March 2011. At this occasion, the Municipality organised a public seminar about the "sustainable city". It took place in the Auditorium di Sant'Agostino, Piazza di Sarzano, 21 in Genoa, the 4th March 2011 at 9:00 a.m. In presence of political representatives, technicians and academic researchers, it joins together local actors and Mediterranean partners.   Malaga charter on sustainable urban models
 Les maires des villes partenaires du projet CATMED se réuniront le 7 février 2011 pour signer la Charte de Malaga.Dans le cadre du projet CATMED et à l'invitation de M. Francisco de la Torre Prados, maire de Malaga, les maires des villes partenaires et leurs représentants signeront la Charte de Malaga le lundi 7 février 2011.  Pourquoi une charte? Depuis mai 2009, les partenaires du projet CATMED travaillent sur la thématique des quartiers durables méditerranéens. Dans ce contexte, les activités du projet se sont déroulées à trois niveaux:

   Metropolitan groups
Premières rencontres des groupes métropolitainsDepuis juin 2010, dans chaque ville partenaire, des groupes métropolitains ont été créés. Jusqu'en février 2011, ils vont se réunir plusieurs fois pour réfléchir à l'application des principes de durabilité dans chaque quartier Green Apple sélectionnés. Par des propositions concrètes, ils travailleront sur 4 domaines précis:

Hasta Febrero del 2011, estos grupos se van a reunir varias vecez para pensar y proponer formas de aplicación de los principios de sostenibilidad en el barrio seleccionado como Green Apple. A través de la formulación de propuestas concretas, los miembros de los grupos trabajarán sobre 4 temáticas diferentes, aplicadas al barrio:
