2nd Mediterranean Mayors' Forum - Recovering the Classical City for Smart Living - Genoa, 9th June 2014

URBAN EMPATHY International Conference “Recovering the Classical City for Smart Living” - 2nd Mayors' Forum of CAT-MED Platform, 9 June 2014

As a continuation of the activities that are being carried out by the CAT-MED Platform on Sustainable Urban Models, we have the pleasure to present the 2nd Mediterranean Mayors' Forum “Recovering the Classical City for Smart Living”. The event will be held in Genoa on the 9th of June 2014 in the context of the International Conference within the Capitalization project URBAN EMPATHY, co-financed by Programme MED.

The main aim of the CAT-MED Platform, which was born in February 2009 after the signature of the Malaga Charter by some Mediterranean Mayors, is the development of sustainable urban models which are based on the classical Mediterranean city; compact, complex and where the proximity of public services is determined by people’s ability to access them on foot. This urban model represents a symbol of territorial, social and technological cohesion, promoting the participation of key actors and public debate on choices that involve the city.

The objective of this event is to exchange experiences and to establish the priorities of Mediterranean and European cities for the period 2014-2020. A debate on the urban models that should be used in our cities and the development of strategies to reinforce social and territorial cohesion through a comprehensive focus on urban sustainability, is now more relevant than ever.

The agenda is now available

For the registration to the event, please fill and return to Convention Bureau Genova (email: info@cbgenova.it) the enclosed registration form.
