Sales in euros start next month
The second generation of the Nissan Juke officially debuted online in early September (source auto-actu.org), but the funky crossover did not arrive in Frankfurt a few weeks later. Instead, Nissan decided to showcase the vehicle publicly for the first time at the 2019 Sofia Motor Show, which is the last European auto show of the 2019 calendar year of the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA). We were there to film the new Juke just before its launch on the Old Continent scheduled for next month. The Sofia is a fully equipped example with leather and Alcantara interior, premium Bose audio system, heated seats, decorative inserts for the bumpers, and 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels. Under the hood is the company’s new 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, which produces 117 horsepower (87 kilowatts) paired with a six-speed manual transmission. In most markets, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is available as an option. As you can see in the attached images, the exterior design of the new Juke is more visually appealing. Additionally, the larger overall proportions and dimensions give it a more spacious cabin with 2.3 inches (5.8 centimeters) of additional legroom compared to the outgoing model and about 0.5 inches (1.1 cm) of headroom. Behind the passengers is a cargo space of 15 cubic feet (422 liters), representing a 20% increase over the previous model.
